VINYL WRAPS

Vinyl wraps are essentially an adhesive-backed film that can be applied directly to your vehicles' bodywork. Whether you're after a full colour change, just a few panels / parts, or some custom advertising / livery, we here at Wrapped On The Road can do it all.

WHY A VINYL WRAP?

Turn your car into something spectacular with a wide range of customised and coloured car wrapping films. A "partial wrap" would include the wrapping of certain panels rather than a complete vehicle colour change.

With partial wraps, the majority of customers tend to go for a roof wrap, a bonnet wrap, wing mirrors, etc. Whether you're looking for Gloss Black accents to make your car look more sleek, or a Carbon Fibre Wrap to give it that super sporty edge, the possibilities are endless.

Wrapping your vehicle not only changes the look of it, but also acts as a layer of added protection on top of the original paintwork.

Essentially, a vinyl wrap is the closest thing to a paint job as possible - for a fraction of the price.

WHAT MATERIALS DO WE USE?

You'll have hundreds of colour and finish options to choose from, from manufacturers such as 3M, Oracal, Avery Dennison - just to name a few of the best brands on the market.

You can choose from Gloss, Matte, Satin, Pearl, Carbon Fibre, Brushed Steel and Chrome finishes.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

Life expectancy can differ depending on who you ask / where you're doing your research. Ultimately, it really does rely on how well its' maintained. We give all of our customers an after care information sheet on how best to look after your vehicle depending on the service received.

The manufacturers' products we use generally offer a 5-7 year product guarantee, however if the wrap is on a car that is driven daily, depending on the mileage / roads driven, we do advise that 3-5 years is more realistic.

WILL A WRAP DAMAGE MY PAINTWORK?

Generally. the answer is no. Vinyl wraps can be installed and removed without causing damage to the underlying paint - it actually provides a layer of protection!

However, whilst the added protection is great, there are certain factors that affect whether or not a wrap can be later removed with no issues. Firstly, you must consider the quality of the material being used. Though it may be tempting to go with the cheapest price you can find (assuming this equals a cheap product), remember that you most likely will end up paying for this later on! Low quality wraps do cause damage to underlying paint.

The quality of the underlying paint is another factor to consider, as this too will affect whether or not a wrap can be removed without causing any damage. It is often recommended that vinyl wraps be applied only to vehicles that have original factory paint, or, a high-quality paint job that's had at least 6 weeks to settle before the wrap is installed.

AFTERCARE INFORMATION

We offer a free QualityCheck post-completion, to be carried out within 30 days of completion, and are always contactable should you have any questions or concerns. For more information, see our Terms & Conditions.

We strongly recommend that you avoid washing your car for at least 7 days from the completion of the vinyl vehicle wrap, unless it is to remove a large build up of dirt, fuel spillages or anything else that may cause damage to your vehicle wrap.

After this time, we recommend hand washing your vehicle with a sponge and hot soapy water. The soapy water  should be a non-abrasive detergent, and we also recommend that you use a soft clean cloth or sponge that has not been exposed to harsh chemicals previously, which may cause damage to your vinyl.

We do advise customer to NOT use a brush or pressure washer, particularly close-up, as this can cause the vinyl / PPF to lift and will invalidate your guarantee with us. For more information on your guarantee, please see our Terms & Conditions.

Take care when using commercial or industrial strength cleaners as they can cause damage to the vinyl, which will also exclude you vehicle wrap from the guarantee. We strongly advise that you avoid drive-through car washes, as brushes will create swirls on the surface of the vinyl. We strongly advise that you avoid car washes that use high power pressure washers and mechanical washers, as this will cause the edges of the vinyl to lift. We strongly recommend that you do not use any abrasive polishes, t-cut compounds, polishes with acids / solvents, or any silicone products.
